Raising awareness of Post Traumatic Stress Disorder. When enduring the trauma, the brain tends to shut down, protecting the person from remembering the trauma. This results in the person remembering fragmented parts of the incident. There are various therapies someone with PTSD can go through, including exposure therapy and CBT trauma therapy. One element of this therapy is to relive the trauma in a safe environment and in temporal order. This helps to remember the missing parts of the event which is depicted through the missing panels. Flashbacks can be uncontrollable and feel like you are reliving the trauma all over again. The asymmetric ribbon represents a cage, channelling the feeling of being locked back into the trauma all over again.
