At first glance, the buttons appear to function as a button. Upon closer inspection, It is the snaps underneath that are the function. And the pretty and delicate scattered flowers look dainty, yet are embroidered with words of somber and despair.

Both the buttons and flowers represent conceptual statements, we never know the full extent of how someone is feeling and coping in their day to day life which is why it’s vital we as a society are compassionate and kind to everyone.

The embroidered words on the flowers were chosen from interviews Sarah conducted in 2017 and 2019 with people who have mental health conditions.
